Adding Materials in CAMWorks & Solidworks CAM

CAMWorks & SOLIDWORKS CAM relies on defined stock materials to calculate the cutting Feed and speed.

Sometimes we can’t find the material in the list. This blog shows you how to add materials in CAMWorks and SOLIDWORKS CAM.

  

First, open Technology Database and Click on Feed / Speed > Feed/Speed Editor

When you clicked on Feed/Speed Editor you will open Micro Estimationg Material Library

In Micro Estimating Material Library Click on Install. Select the material you need to install, for example NYLON. Click on Install new materials

But it doesn't end here. Next step you need to go back to Technology Database. Click on Feed / Speed  > Update Stock Material Data.

This step might take a few minutes at times. After this step you can check the Stock manager, you will then see the Material added.
