How do I activate SOLIDWORKS SimulationXpress?

First, let us define what actually is SOLIDWORKS SimulationXpress.

SOLIDWORKS SimulationXpress is a basic finite element analysis (FEA) simulation tool enabling you to run basic linear static analyses of single bodied parts and this tool is included in every SOLIDWORKS Standard and Professional software package.

When using SimulationXpress for the first time, you’ll be prompted to activate it. This blog will guide you through this simple process and once ready, you can start validating your designs!

So, let’s get started!

To enable SOLIDWORKS Xpress Products, you will need to obtain a Product Code from MySolidWorks website.

Step 1:  Launch the Xpress tool. In this example we will try to launch SimulationXpress.  In SOLIDWORKS go to Tools > Xpress Products > SimulationXpress

Step 2:  In the window that comes up, click on the link for My.solidworks.com/xpress

Step 3:  Log into the MySolidWorks website. If you don’t have a customer portal account, please create an account. For more information to create SolidWorks account, please go here

Step 4:  The activation code (Product Code) that is linked to your SOLIDWORKS serial number will be displayed.

Step 5:  Copy and paste the Product Code into the window in SOLIDWORKS and click OK.

After this you should have full access to your SOLIDWORKS SimulationXpress product.
